About reviews

Last updated: 31 October 2026

How we make sure reviews on HomeHero come from people who really booked the job (Consumer Rights Directive Art. 7(6) as amended by the Omnibus Directive).

Only real, completed bookings

  • A review can only be written for a booking that was paid through HomeHero and completed. Without a booking there is no review button.
  • Only the two parties of the booking can review: the customer reviews the Hero, the Hero reviews the customer. One review each per booking.
  • We send one reminder after the job is approved. We never pay, give credit or offer discounts for reviews, and we don't ask for positive ones.
  • Heroes can't remove or edit reviews. They can post one public reply.

How reviews are shown

  • All reviews are shown, newest first — good and bad. We don't hide or rank reviews by their rating.
  • The average rating is the simple average of all star ratings received.
  • Review texts pass the same automatic check as other texts (no contact details, links or payment details). They aren't pre-approved by a person.
  • Reviews that break our rules (e.g. abusive, unrelated to the job, personal data) can be reported and removed after review; the author is told why. If an account is deleted, its star ratings remain without the name or text.
