Why can't I share my phone number or email?

To keep payments, damage protection and reviews working for everyone, all communication happens on HomeHero. Our system automatically blocks content that would move contact off the platform.

What's blocked

The following is blocked in messages, offers, task descriptions and profiles:

• phone numbers
• email addresses
• links and website addresses
• social media handles
• requests to pay or meet outside HomeHero

Advertising your own company or website isn't allowed either.

Why we do this

• Payments outside HomeHero aren't protected, and damage protection doesn't apply.
• It protects your privacy. Only first names are shown, and the exact address is shared only after payment.
• It makes scams far harder.

How to communicate

• Before booking: private messages on the task (between the customer and each Hero).
• After an offer is accepted and paid: the private chat in Messages.

What happens if you try anyway

Repeated attempts lead to warnings, then temporary messaging restrictions, and finally suspension of the account. If someone asks you to contact them elsewhere, please use the Report button.
