Who can do electrical, gas and plumbing work?

Some jobs are regulated by law because mistakes can be dangerous. On HomeHero, these may only be carried out by authorised Heroes.

Which jobs?

• electrical installations and repairs
• gas work
• plumbing and drain work, where the law requires an authorisation

How to recognise an authorised Hero

Look for the Authorised badge on the Hero's profile. It means HomeHero's team has reviewed the Hero's trade authorisation. The document itself is never shown to you, only the badge.

For customers

• Only accept offers for these jobs from Heroes with the Authorised badge.
• If you're unsure whether your job needs an authorisation, message the customer on the task or choose an authorised Hero to be safe.

For Heroes

• Don't send offers on regulated work unless you hold the authorisation required.
• Upload your licence in Documents & verification.
• Heroes doing authorised trades must have liability insurance.

Doing regulated work without the required authorisation breaks the Hero rules and can lead to suspension.
