Can I pay a Hero directly?

No. All payments for jobs found on HomeHero must go through HomeHero. This applies to the original job and to any extra work agreed later.

What you lose by paying outside

• No payment protection: your money goes straight to the Hero, and we can't hold it, refund it or help if the job isn't done.
• No damage protection: HomeHero Damage Protection only covers jobs booked and paid through HomeHero.
• No reviews: reviews can only be left after a completed and paid job.
• No help from support with disputes about that payment.

It's against the rules

Asking for, offering or accepting payment outside HomeHero breaks our rules. Messages that suggest it are blocked automatically, and repeated attempts lead to warnings, messaging restrictions and suspension.

If someone asks you to pay outside

Don't do it, and use the Report button on the message or profile. A request to pay by bank transfer, payment link or cash is one of the most common signs of a scam. See How do I stay safe on HomeHero?
