What do “Verified ID” and “Phone verified” mean?

Verified ID means Stripe checked a government ID and a live selfie; Phone verified means the Hero confirmed their mobile by SMS.

Badges help you choose a Hero with confidence. They appear next to the Hero's name on offers, task pages and profiles.

Verified ID

The Hero proved who they are with Stripe Identity: a photo of a passport, national ID card or driving licence, plus a live selfie that's matched to the document. HomeHero only receives the result — we never see or store the document photos.

Heroes: go to Documents & verification and click Verify your ID. It takes about two minutes on your phone. Most checks finish within minutes; we notify you when it's done. If the check fails (for example a blurry photo or an expired document), you can simply try again.

Phone verified

The person confirmed their mobile number with a code sent by SMS. The number itself stays private — it's never shown to other users. Verify yours in Login & security.

Insurance verified, Authorised and Certified

These come from documents the Hero uploaded and our team checked. See How do verification and badges work?

What badges don't mean

A badge confirms a specific check at a specific time. It isn't a guarantee of the quality of the work — always read reviews too, and keep payment on HomeHero so you're covered by payment protection.
