How do messages and counter-offers on a task work?

Before booking, you and each Hero talk in a private thread on the task — and you can suggest another price.

Before you book, each Hero can write to you in a private thread on your task. Only you and that Hero can see it — other Heroes never see your conversation.

Suggesting another price

Got an offer that's a bit high? Press Suggest another price on the offer and enter your price (with an optional note). The Hero can:

  • Accept — the offer is updated to your price, and you can book it right away.
  • Decline — the original price stays.
  • Send a new offer — for example meeting you in the middle.

You can always accept the current offer while a counter-offer is waiting.

Good to know

  • Phone numbers, email addresses, links and social media handles are blocked automatically, as are requests to meet or pay outside HomeHero.
  • Don't share your exact address or door codes before booking. The booked Hero receives your address after payment, and the full chat opens.
  • If a message is inappropriate, use the Report button on the Hero's offer.

Tips for good answers

Answer quickly and precisely: measurements, photos of the area, access and parking, whether materials are provided. Clear answers lead to better and more accurate offers.
